|MKHS Alumni 1973 & 1974
Huntington Beach, CA
This website was created to organize the first MKHS Multi-Year Reunion held on September 22, 2006 in Huntington Beach, California. There were 650 guests in attendance that included alumni from class years 1967 thru 1988. Pictures from that evening are posted on the "Photo Album" page.
Since then, there have been several reunions organized with the benefit of this site. The Class of 1979 held their 30th reunion at the Long Beach Hyatt in October 2009. We had another Multi-Year Reunion at the Bonaventure Hotel in September 2011 with more than 350 guests. The Class of 1982 held their 30th reunion in Fall of '12 in Monterey Park.

FUNDRAISER FOR A FRIEND - WE RAISED MORE THAN $1800 !!
The original Facebook post:
Many of you may recognize the name "Matt Marquisee." Matt lived in Monterey Park and attended Hillcrest, Repetto, and graduated from MKHS in 1973. He's the handsome gent standing in the middle of his classmates in the photo above (Hawaiian print shirt) taken at the 2006 Multi-Year Reunion in Huntington Beach.
Some of you may be familiar with Matt's story. He's been struggling with some health issues recently and has been without a place to live for quite some time. Well, Matt had a fairly serious surgery just this past week and was released from the hospital the very next day! The shelter where he sleeps at night is a functioning business during the day. Each morning, he gathers his personal belongings and heads outside into the cold looking for a place to spend the day. This would be a challenge for anyone, but is a dangerous situation for someone recuperating from surgery. Unfortunately, he does not have family or friends that are able to offer him a place to stay through this difficult time.
I'd like to raise enough money for Matt to recuperate in a room for the next week. I found a very inexpensive motel that offers a complimentary breakfast in Azusa. The total cost is $93.85 per night. I have prepaid a room for the first three nights. It would be fantastic if we could raise enough money to pay for additional nights and a few hot meals. This would give him time to heal in a safe, warm place.
I hope you can find it in your heart to consider a donation and help out a friend in need. I created a "DONATE HERE!" page on this site to collect donations. It accepts debit/credit cards. Please email me for my address if you would prefer to make your donation via check.
UPDATE: Thanks to the generosity and kindness of Aztecs & friends, Matt will have lodging through the New Year! He'll be able to purchase a few personal necessities, bus passes, and hot meals for several weeks.
Wishing you and your families a wonderful holiday season!!!
